Luxembourg Film Prize

I was complaining a lot yesterday that practically no media in Luxembourg had any news online for Friday night. What was happening on Friday? The prizes for the Best Luxemburgish films  or Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis were given out at Mondorf les Bains, and I did not attend the ceremony (too Luxemburgish for me...)

Créajeune: a short film competition for youth

Yesterday, it was a very special night for me. My first favourite place in Luxembourg, Eisenborn Youth Center powered by SNJ moved to my second favourite place, the Cinematheque. Unfortunately it was only for the night -wouldn't it be perfect if such a cooperation could be more systematic?

Creajeune is a video contest for young adults, organised by the QuattroPole, a wonderful cross-border city network that puts together cultural activities from Luxembourg city, Metz in France, and Saarbrucken and Trier in Germany. Four cities - three different countries and three different languages, these liaisons dangereux are so constructive and so full of love and sharing, they make my heart beat fast.

Golden Globes 2012 Nominations are Out!

I barely have time to comment, so I will just give you the list, but ok, I can say a few words. In a nutshell:  are they CRAZY? Bridesmaids sucks! I am not convinced by Moneyball either, and Midnight in Paris?! Gimme a break, please. Misses Williams is not very convincing for me in her Marilyn version, Ryan Gosling in Stupid, Crazy, Love is good indeed, the same goes for Brendan Gleeson; Tilda is always cool, The Artist is a wonderful film and Hazanavicius is such a cool name with Lithuanian origins, so, he should definitely win, in as many categories possible, Kate Winslet by Polanski is a winning combination, too. In the category Best Foreign Film, I would go for La Piele Que Habito -Almodovar forever-, or the Dardenne Brothers. And preferably no Tintin, please, the animation has certain issues. Thanks God Melancholia is nowhere between the nominees.
