Insatiable is my Name: Russ Meyer's Vixen! (1968)

Vixen! was the film that catapulted Russ Meyer in the international vixendome. "The King of the Nudies", as he was referred to -a title he full-heartedly chose to adorn his headstone with- is well-known for his big breast fixation, weird sense of humour and sexploitation crescendo.

His Amazonian, insatiable women often portray such vigour and  men-hunting qualities that one can see them as a token of feminism more than victims of a sexist society. They can be as empowering, as tortured. objectified and ridiculed, if we look at the big picture, though; so don't blame me on proclaiming Russ Meyer a hardcore feminist, even if his dominant women can definitely be described as sending out a feminist message.

I did. Just for fun, though. In a perfectly abstract way.

I had many Horrible Bosses (some good ones, too, though). But I was not lucky enough to have such a sexy-yet-dangerous boss, the boss that Jennifer Anniston is --having changed her hail color to a mysterious dark-- in the upcoming summer comedy Horrible Bosses.

Life is slightly unfair, mind me.

Ο πρώτος ρόλος της ήταν σε θεατρικό ανέβασμα της Σταχτοπούτας. Ασήμαντη σχολική εμπειρία, αφού δεν έπαιζε καν τον πρωταγωνιστικό ρόλο, αλλά αυτόν της νεράιδας νονάς που της χαρίζει την ευκαιρία να γίνει πριγκίπισσα. Τώρα όμως, βρίσκεται ήδη στο ρόλο της πριγκίπισσας. Η Eva αυτή η εξωτική παρουσία, που μπήκε στη show-business εντελώς τυχαία, αρχίζει επιτέλους να αποκτά εντελώς ανταγωνιστικό προφίλ. Με μερικούς ελάχιστα απαιτητικούς ρόλους στο ενεργητικό της, που βασίζονταν περισσότερο στην εξωτερική εμφάνιση και λιγότερο στις όποιες υποκριτικές ικανότητες (άλλωστε η Eva ξεκίνησε από μηδενικό σημείο -όταν άρχισε την καριέρα της δεν είχε ιδέα από υποκριτική, πράγμα που ευτυχώς φρόντισε γρήγορα να εξαλείψει -και με αστείρευτη ενέργεια, εξ’ ου και η απίστευτη εργατικότητά της, αφού μέσα σε ένα χρόνο πρόλαβε να παίξει σε τέσσερις ταινίες, κατάφερε σε δύο μόλις χρόνια να μεταλλαχθεί από εκείνη την εκρηκτική παρουσία που θυμόμαστε στην ερωτική σκηνή με τον Denzel Washington στο Training Day σε επάξια συμπρωταγωνίστριά του στη νέα ταινία του Carl Franklin (One False Move-1992) Out of Time.

It’s a hot summer…but, no way to go naked!

Try this out: wear your bikini as underwear, so you can take off your shirt any time you find it unbearable. Jeans are a nightmare, leave them for freezing days! Try a girly skirt, indeed.

You want to be more chic, then, put a white dress on. One that can let the air blow inside and make you look like Marilyn Monroe in Seven Year Itch. Feeling sexy and cool is not so bad, is it?
